Life Can Really Suck

So, Dad came home today with an announcement.
He's head of security at an automotive plant. He's actually employed by a security company, that is contracted to guard the automotive plant.
This automotive plant is laying off workers now due to the GM problem, and the whole problem with our economy.
Dad's boss in the plant came up to him today and told him he had until Friday to figure out how to cut the cost of security, or he's going to have to cancel it.
If he cancels it, my Dad loses his job. And with hundreds of other people already looking for jobs, it would be impossible for him to get hired somewhere else.
The only way for my Dad to get costs down is to remove a work shift, which means he'll have to fire someone. He's hoping that will be enough. If not, he's working on a proposal that would effectively make security "in-house," which is very risky, because this could also cost Dad his job. As there is no guarantee he'd be hired on if the company went that way.
If the contract is broken and the company doesn't hire him on, the security company might place him somewhere, if there is an opening available. There is another site in Dexter that he might be able to go to, but that would mean either a pay cut, or the other supervisor getting demoted.
The next closest site is in Cape. Which is too far to drive every morning for work. :(
So, at my house, shit has hit the fan.
