Edit has been added to the bottom. If you read this before, skip to the bottom to see what I changed.

Okay, I hate it when people use their LJs to whine and complain, but I have to get this off my chest. The below deals with the RP I am in, so if you don't know anything about it, spare yourself and don't read. Or read anyway, you may learn something. Important stuff is in bold.
I am very tired of not being acknowledged.
I understand that with the technology of today, there are times when messages are not received, so I give leeway on this. But I hate it when I'm talking to people about something important (and even things not all that important at all) and they simply go silent or don't respond at all. This has happened to me more times than I can count.
Stop it.
I can not mod this RP comm if I cannot communicate with you. I believe that simple acknowledgment is common courtesy, if only so I know you saw my messages. If you don't know what to say, fine, tell me that at least, but don't just ignore the message window.
If this continues, I will have to step down from my position as mod.
I cannot work with you if you do not speak to me. I can't fix problems if I'm not told about them and I can't discuss decisions with you either if you don't respond.
And slightly off-topic, but somehow very important to my mod-ship:
Random RP chats are exactly that, random.
Participation in such chats is voluntary. If you feel left out, tell me and I'll try to help you, but keep in mind that it is not my responsibility. RP chats have no relevance to the LJ RP unless we are talking about the LJ RP. I have no power in the chatroom unless it deals with LJ RP business. Things that go on in chatrooms are not my business or jurisdiction. I can't make people talk to you, I can't make people RP, and I can't make people NOT talk about things. It is up to them to decide what they can or can't say, but hopefully they can keep other people in mind when it comes to content others do not wish to see. I don't think that is a major problem right now, as people do take things into PM when they think it might squick others. If something bothers you, leave the chat. Once again, it's voluntary. I am no one's mother, and I can't tell them to watch their mouths or make them play nice.
That said I do encourage everyone to participate in RP chats they feel comfortable with. It is a useful tool to help you understand your character, regardless of the situation they are in (even AU) and helps you better understand their motivations. Also, feel free to RP as character that you have not claimed in the LJ, it's a good writing exercise, make use of it if you can.
If you have any comments to anything above, good or bad, feel free to respond here. I know it sounds like I'm pissed, and I am, but do not worry about making me hate you if you disagree. I value my friends too much to drop them over this. I may be overstepping my bounds in the above, if so, tell me.
I think that's all for now, but don't be surprised if more of these appear in the future.
Edit: Also, no matter how new you are, your opinion is important. Everyone has the right to their opinion and when it relates to the LJ RP, I want to hear yours. If this isn't clear in the Mod post I made earlier, I'll say it again here: If you don't agree with something, SAY SO. I don't want to play with a group of mindless zombies who just agree because they feel I'm not going to listen. I am not a dictator, the RP comm belongs to everyone. I want as many people happy with it as possible.

Date: 2006-05-16 06:22 pm (UTC)I agree about the communication thing. Hard to talk to someone when they won't talk back. I hope to see good discussions started in this post, or in the other one. Hope things get resolved.
I also don't want to lose all these new friends. ^^

Date: 2006-05-16 06:33 pm (UTC)Thanks for the support. I keep thinking of more things to say, so I may have to go do an edit now.

Date: 2006-05-16 06:35 pm (UTC)You're doing a good job, I think. I really have no comments about the AU issue and pretty much shrug and go along with it.
As for the RPing in the chat things... I can't say I will be doing any Tenipuri RPing with you all.

Thank you.

Date: 2006-05-16 06:59 pm (UTC)I'm completely okay with how the rp is and don't mind the minor changes (people knowing each other, or not knowing each other, etc...) that have been made. For things to run smoothly, most people have to be in agreeance, and I for one am behind the group 100%. I may not always be there, but I try and that's what matters, isn't it?

Date: 2006-05-16 07:05 pm (UTC)I did get my grades back today and my scholarship is saved, so maybe my ulcer will get better.
And you do try and that's definitely what matters. You're doing fine as far as the LJ RP is concerned and that's what matters.

Date: 2006-05-16 07:08 pm (UTC)Aww, well that's good, isn't it? -pets you- I hope the ulcer gets better. Don't need my sis all sick.
I'm doing my best.

Date: 2006-05-16 11:37 pm (UTC)Of course, replying to that then was already around 1:30-ish my time, and you would've been long gone. This morning, I was almost late getting to school, too. I love what you're doing, and it is the fault of everyone that we're not communicating correctly.
... What I see is, no matter how much you encourage people, there still will be some who never speaks up and put in their opinion, so an RPG cannot be perfect in every aspect. So, if they're not having fun and not speaking up, I personally think it's their issue for not speaking.
Finishing that... I'm like... sweating my life away. The sun is just too much for me right now. Talk to you more later. ♥
Keep up the worderful job.
